The Valencian Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FVMP) has awarded Blautic the design, development and maintenance of the digital platform for the En Moviment programme. This Valencian Government programme turns physical exercise into one more prescription, on the same level as any other treatment prescribed at a health centre.
Our job will be to provide technology support for the whole journey: from the moment a primary care professional refers a person until that person completes their exercise plan in their municipality. To do this we are starting from a platform that is already in production: a web version to manage the programme and Android and iOS apps for professionals and participants.
What is En Moviment?
En Moviment is a health-oriented physical activity and exercise prescription programme promoted by the Valencian Government through its Health and Sports departments, and coordinated with local councils through an agreement with the FVMP.
It is aimed at inactive people, people with risk factors or people with chronic diseases. Primary care gives them a physical activity prescription lasting six to nine months, and they attend the sports facilities in their municipality, where a professional team supports them free of charge. Each participating municipality sets up its own Physical Activity and Exercise Unit (UAEF), coordinated by a fitness trainer.

From the health centre to the sports court, without losing track
When they sign up, participants complete an initial questionnaire and the physical activity readiness questionnaire, so planning is safely adjusted from day one. From then on, the fitness trainer records anthropometric, general health and psychosocial data, body composition and attendance, individually or by group, in the app.
So that professionals can spend their time on people rather than paperwork, the platform includes 80 preloaded workouts with load progression (strength, cardio, weight loss, rehabilitation), an exercise library with videos and an automation module that schedules sessions according to each participant’s preferred days.

Adherence: the key to making the habit stick
An exercise prescription only works if it is followed. That is why the platform measures adherence to the plan and alerts the professional when someone stops training or has pending sessions. In addition, a community module with challenges and rewards and a chat between participants and professionals help keep motivation up throughout the months the programme lasts.

Assessing progress with the phone camera
As an optional technical improvement, there is an image-based functional assessment test module. Participants take the tests from their app and the system analyses their movement: valid repetitions, technique quality, joint range of motion or speed. The professional receives objective data to adjust the plan, without needing to be present.
A team that brings together technology and exercise for health
For this project we are working with two partners with in-depth knowledge of exercise prescription:
- Basar Labs & Sports: creators of the Wellit platform, which we developed at Blautic and which is the basis of the En Moviment Platform. They are also in charge of training the UAEFs and of the support service.
- Emerge 3C: specialised technical advice on how the programme operates, and technical direction of the project.
This contract builds on what we have been doing for years: developing devices, apps and platforms for health and sport, together with hospitals, universities and technology institutes. Now that knowledge is at the service of Valencian municipalities and of the people who take the step to move more.
We will keep you posted on how the rollout progresses. If you are part of a UAEF or a participating local council and would like to know more about the platform, get in touch.
