Exploring augmented reality: Blautic has already put the Meta Ray-Ban Display to the test

Augmented reality has stopped being a distant promise and become one of the most active technological frontiers of the moment. At Blautic, we’ve been moving closer to that field for some time now, and we’ve just taken a particularly interesting step: we’ve started experimenting with the Meta Ray-Ban Display and the Meta Neural Band, a device that hasn’t yet reached the European market.

The Meta Ray-Ban Display launched initially only in the United States (autumn 2025), and its international rollout remains on hold. As of today (June 2026), there’s no release date in Spain or the rest of Europe, so being able to work with them now puts us a step ahead.

Why does it matter to us?

Augmented reality answers a question that connects directly with what we do every day: how do we deliver the information users need, at the right moment, without making them look at a screen? Smart glasses open up a new layer of interaction —hands-free, contextual and immediate— that’s well worth building expertise on.

This isn’t a new concern for us. A few months ago we were already reflecting on it in Data visualization in the age of augmented reality, where we made a case for an idea we still keep firmly in mind: technology adds value when it helps us better understand a real problem, not just because of how eye-catching it is. These tests are the natural next step from that reflection: moving from thinking about how data should be displayed to testing the capabilities of a real device to make it happen.

What are we testing?

The Meta Ray-Ban Display integrates a color screen into the lens itself, capable of showing information without interrupting your view of your surroundings. It’s controlled by the Neural Band, a wristband that interprets the hand’s micro-gestures discreetly and naturally.

In the medium term, our goal is to assess the potential of augmented reality developments connected to sensors —inertial, biometric, environmental— like the ones we already integrate for industry, sport and health. The idea is simple: that data isn’t just measured, but shown in the right place and at the right moment.

Which sensors are we working with today? You can see them in our sensors catalog. That’s the ecosystem we aim to connect with this new visualization layer. At Blautic, we keep exploring, testing and learning so we’re ready when augmented reality makes the definitive leap into professional environments. We’ll be sharing what we discover along the way..
